About The John Byrne Dance Company

The John Byrne Dance Company was formed in the Spring of 2011.

JBDC had its first season in New York City at Theatre 80, presenting 'Transcending Form,' an evening-length modern dance fable with live music.

'Transcending Form' played for 14 weeks, with praise from Backstage Magazine. 100% of the Box Office proft was donated to the non-profit Education In Dance to bring dance to public schools in NYC.

JBDC also performed a live dance installation in July of 2011 as part of David LaChapelle's exhibit at the Lever House Gallery in New York City, receiving praise from Metro Newspaper.

JBDC strives to present innovative new work and provide dance residencies to schools and universities in the future.
